4/26/04 - New scanner (well, very old scanner) started use.  Has less 
sensitivity than the old one.  Will correct that, unless the fix causes more front end
overload and undesired reception than is present now (sorry, DNR; you're
bleeding over.)

4/24/04 - New wireless link in place 4/24 or so.  Scanner and the 
recording
computer have no wired connection between them - hopefully makes computer a
tad more lightning-resistant. :)

5/18/04 - Storm effects - down until noon 5/19 (toasted cable modem).  
Yaay.

5/26/04 - filled up the hard drive with the archive.  Doing a ZIP of the
original .WAV files; not near as compact as an .MP3 or a .OGG, but preserves
the quality.  Hard drive is only a 20 GB.  Offloaded the archives onto a
second computer until I can burn them to a CD.  Computer back online 5/28.

5/28/04 - Publicus animadverto ego sum (or something like that.)

5/30/04 - Storm.  Power out at 8:51 PM.  Tornado.
Damage to parts of Peru 8:50 to 8:55 PM.  Restarted the whole mess 
11:45 PM.  Power blinked for some reason again at 11:50 PM.  Wild day.

7/18/04 - Added 'automatic' management of files on the website - files
older than 5 days (well, 24x5 hours) are all that are kept out there.
All files are archived here, so if you want something older, just LMK.

7/29/04 - 7/30/04 - Changeover from Insight Broadband to Comcast.  Not my
idea.  Not my idea of smooth, either.  Late posting of several hours when
DHCP did not renew properly... missed part of the 10 PM and 11 PM hours
7/30 trying to force catching-up of posts.

8/18/04 - Good morning (6:30 AM).  Your power was out for about 5 minutes.
Please reset everything and have a good day.

8/20/04 - Removed log files.  Paul Bunyan surrenders.

8/23/04 - Started experimenting with some silence removal software.

8/24/04 - Modified experiment.  Experiment taking WAAAY too much CPU time 
on the lil' ole computer running it.  Also changed to a new scanner; added 
TPW and CERA/WSRY frequencies.  DNR should no longer be heard.

9/2/04 - New computer; running Linux (Fedora Core 2).  New scripts, new 
silence removal algorithm.  Tweaking as it goes.

9/20/04 - Added wireless network card in computer.  Missed quite a bit of 
2100-2221 as it took a few reboots to get ndiswrapper playing properly.

10/12/04-10/14/04 - Scattered downtime to prep and install a much 
quieter hard drive.

1/29/05 - Down 10:58 PM to 11:25 PM - many Fedora upgrades, including a 
Kernel upgrade; also changed the networking cabling slightly.  With the 
Kernel upgrade, had to reboot.  Uptime prior to reboot: 105 days.  Try 
that with Windows!  

5/13/05 - Lost a bit of the 5PM and 6 PM hours due to power blink during 
storms... still 19 mins of audio with D93 slipping in alongside a 19K 
making his setoffs in the 5PM hour - also 272 with a bad radio.

6/6/2005 - Power supply failure on the link receiver in the early morning 
hours.  Does not appear to be storm related.  Fixed just before 10 PM.

8/11/2005 - Utility power dipped sometime in the 4 PM hour.  Reset link just after 8 PM.  Parts of the 4PM hour were never recorded, along with the entire 5PM, 6PM, 7PM, and the first minute of the 8PM hour.  Sorry 'bout that!

12/25/2005 - Down from 10 PM to 11:59:59 PM to replace a power supply fan 
and do updates.  Oh, yes - and remove 1/2 lb of dust.

4/20/2009 - I've sold the house in Peru, and am shutting things down.  I hope this is not for long, but time is in short supply.
